This blog has been quoted in a new book on the human voice in the UK, The Voice of Influence, by Judy Apps. Ms. Apps quotes an earlier post on nonverbal qualities of the 2008 candidates for president that suggested how the resonant character of (then Sen.) Pres. Obama's voice favored him in the election.
Isn't the web world a remarkable thing? That an author in the UK can simply reach out and find a small blogger's post on a relevant subject in Japan (I was living in Japan at the time) - just fifteen years ago such a thing was basically impossible.

Who is PatricktheRogue?
Patrick (Padraig) was a Celtic chieftain about a thousand years ago who was forced, with his clan, out of Scotland into Ireland. I, the blogmaster, am one of Patrick's ancestors and I've named this blog after him in appreciation for my Irish heritage. In other words, I am grateful for having not grown up eating haggis on St. Andrew's day, but instead thriving on the unparalleled Murphy's Stout on St. Patrick's instead. Unfortunately my grandfather made it more difficult for me to obtain my favorite brew by moving to America long before I was born, but I have still managed to locate a few (thousand) pints here and there.
